South End Neighborhood Revitalization Zone
Minutes of the Meeting
Tuesday, May 9, 2006
Lathon Wider Community Center

The meeting commenced at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation given by a representative from Antares the developer that purchased 82 acres in the South End of Stamford, Conn.

Antares plans are preliminary in nature but the proposal envisions a mixed use project consisting of primarily residential uses and related commercial or office uses, retail space, parks and public accessible open space and a boat yard all located on approximately 82 acres in the South End. The Antares representative commenced with his dialog by referencing the attached drafts.

Lou Casolo gave an update on the project demolitions that would be taking place to make way for the Stamford Urban Transitway.  It was asked if points of contacts in the government center could be set up for individuals in the neighborhoods that are impacted as issues arise such as, air quality (dust), rodents, storm water runoff, and traffic.  Lou said he would look into that but the citizen’s service center is the department set up to take complaints.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00pm
