Revitalization Zone Meeting Minutes – Tuesday October 11, 2005 Chairperson: Board Member Ben Branch Topic: The Stamford Urban Transit way Speaker: Lou Casolo Talking Points: • Almost all properties have been acquired through eminent domain for the transit way, except for those properties being swapped. • Project involves 50 parcels of land and 70 taxable parcels. • 413 Canal Street will be the first building to be demolished. • Project completion date is fall of 2008 and total cost is 49 million. • City of Stamford meets every 3 months with Federal Officials to go over the site and the project plans • The project is about 85 % complete from a design standpoint. • Final design is scheduled for completion by spring of ’06. • The Stamford Urban Transit way will be able to accommodate all modes of transportation. [cars, buses, etc.] Lou Casolo also spoke briefly about Kosciusko Park Talking Points: • City will begin remediation soon and the park is scheduled for public use by the spring/summer of ’06.
